The Kitsap Peninsula and its many communities are proud of their diverse and rich history, heritage and culture. You find wonderful the Suquamish Museum alive with Native American history and tradition that is still part of many community events and activities.

You can learn about our famous Mosquito Fleet at the Kitsap County Historical Society & Museum in downtown Bremerton and the Sidney Museum in Port Orchard...you can even take a ride the one of the original Mosquito Fleet Boats that travels everyday between Bremerton and Port Orchard.

You'll also find a fun Kids Discovery Museum on Bainbridge Island and in Poulsbo you can learn all about "Little Norway" at the Poulsbo Historical Museum.

Kitsap is also very famous for its Naval history including the USS Turner Joy, Naval Museum, and popular mothballed fleet of aircraft carriers. A favorite of children of all ages is the Naval Undersea Museum in Keyport.

This Bainbridge Island Japanese American Exclusion Memorial is an outdoor exhibit commemorating the internment of Japanese Americans on Bainbridge Island.  It is located on the south shore of Eagle Harbor, opposite the town of Winslow on Bainbridge Island.

The Harborside Fountain Park includes the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard Memorial Plaza dedicated to shipyard workers and shipyard founder, Lt. Ambrose Wycoff.  On the other side of the ferry terminal is the Louis B. Mentor Boardwalk which includes the memorial for the USS Franklin CV-13, the Vietnam icon USS Turner Joy, and at the end of the marina stands the Lone Sailor Statue.
